Hi there! I am Tara Rodden Robinson. I’m an artist and author.
I think of myself as an archaeologist of the soul. Archaeology is the study of history through analysis of artifacts and physical remains. As an archaeologist of the soul, I study my own personal history to understand my past and to form my future.
My work uses hidden meanings and layers of imagery. I bury messages into my paintings using collage, written text, and personalized images. As a spiritual practice, my art is a means of exploring mystical spirituality while conveying what I find to be holy and sacred in nature.
My approach is equal parts intuition and purpose. As biologist by training, I present natural organisms with biological realism while expressing whimsy and delight through color, collage, and quirky hand-lettering.
I work in watercolor, colored pencil, ink, graphite, acrylics, and stained glass mosaic.
