Tara, thanks for your honesty in this post. Here's what I see:

The WDS saw a place for material like yours at the summit. They do value what you offer. (Of course they do!)

Who knows how close they were to choosing yours over the other person's? Maybe it was a 5-to-4 vote or something! Which means that next time, it might be you who is chosen. And that other person who was chosen? She has been where you are, too. We all have.

I will also note that most of the human race wasn't even in the game and wouldn't have even considered that they might have a chance, so you're a leader on that front.

So hell yes, bring on the hopefulness!

Dear Tara,

Thank you for writing such a beautiful article! I totally agree with you about how thinking we have 'later' to accomplish our tasks, etc is something we should consider when we might never go about achieving them.As a writer myself, sometimes the delay in writing a book comes from letting the creative juices flow, and allowing the writing to fit in with the other daily activities in life :)
All the best to your writing and books! :)

On the contrary, over crowded would equal to "too much", busy would just be "full". Full is a good thing, I would site relevance between used up and wasted away, wasted away being what happens when you you aren't busy enough. I hate to use a term I know is dis liked by someone I'm interacting with but you didn't offer an alternative to describe a happy busy person in a positive way.

... I was gonna go on but I just had a huge brain fart. Too bad too, it was the part that started with "Although I do agree......."
