Living Life with Passion and Meaning: Brandy Walker

Sometimes I hear a story that is so amazing, so compelling, so wow that I just have to share it. Brandy Walker’s story is like that. She’s so brave and authentic and talented that she just blows me away.

One of the things that I love most about Brandy is her commitment to social justice. She calls herself an abolitionist–not a term you hear a lot these days–but when Brandy learned that there are people in slavery, right now, around the world, she knew she had to something about it. So here’s this young woman who has journeyed from the darkness of addictions to being a promising writer and future pastor. She found purpose and passion and meaning and those discoveries helped open a path for her–and they keep opening her path, wider and wider. How cool is that?!?

In the video below, you can hear and see Brandy talk about her journey. In 40-Days Forward, I write about how giving can be part of living a life of abundance and meaning–Brandy is living proof of this. She gives herself, her time, her talents so generously. I felt so awed and humbled to hear Brandy’s voice; she made me feel braver and more determined that ever to step out and own my own passions, to play bigger, and to be more authentic and real.

Thanks, Brandy–you rock!!!

With love,
Tara

P.S. I enrolled in Tara Sophia Mohr’s upcoming course so I can learn more about Playing Big. I’ve been way too worried about criticism and I want to get past that so that I exercise more influence to make a positive difference in the world. Will you join us? It’s going to be an incredible experience and I’d love to share it with you. Check it out here (fyi: affiliate link).
