This week marks a time of gratitude and thanks. One of the things you may be grateful for are the people in your life. Listening as people share their stories is a powerful way of expressing your gratitude. Story Corps is dedicated to helping people honor and celebrate each others' lives through listening. To that end, they’ve started the National Day of Listening.
This year’s National Day of Listening will be Friday, Nov 28. To participate in Story Corps’ project of documenting people’s stories, check out their website. You can find more information on how to share stories as well as suggestions for questions to get the conversation started.
As one of Story Corps’ partners, NPR’s commentators and hosts are sharing their family’s stories. Scott Simon, host of Saturday Morning Edition, talked to his mom. You can hear their moving conversation and an hilarious story here.
